Australia Czyta. What is "Australia Reads" about?

Moi drodzy, dzieciaki, nauczyciele

[ENG]  Stop what you’re doing for an hour, pick up a book and read to yourself, your students, or the children in the neighbourhood.

Children’s Choices – What should you read for the Reading Hour? Children are invited to participate by submitting short videos with their recommendations or ‘book trailers’ for the Book Links to share. Book Links and Australia Reads are inviting Australians of all ages to share and celebrate the joys of reading.

Book Links and Australia Reads.

Book Links is busy planning many free exciting events during the Australia Reads campaign. Whether you are picking up a book for the first time or your head is already stuck in one, there are plenty of books, activities and events as part of the festivities. You will need to keep your eyes on the website as they add more details.
  • All sessions will be online with links sent to registered participants prior to events.
  • Time is Queensland time.
  • Some sessions will be recorded and added to YouTube for later viewing.

There are sessions on most days (from 1/11 to 10/11 2020) and all free for schools, families and lovers of children’s literature to join in. You can listen to award winning authors read from their books, ask an author questions, join the quiz and see if you are faster than the authors at answering the questions. Look at the program, recommended featured books and find out more about registering and participating.

Important information for schools:

Preferred video length: 1-2 mins
Suggested format: Video
Template:
My name is (first name).
I am (?) years old. I am from _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _  (NSPSS).
Here is a book I would recommend others to read during the Reading Hour.
The title is.... The author is...

Why I think you should read this book?

Now present your three (3) strong arguments.

e.g. It's about.... It would suit readers of my age/other age.....

Finish giving full information to bookshop address, library or location with author bio, etc.

  • We would need to provide a link to the video clip in Dropbox or YouTube or emailed if not too big (under 2MB). Please be aware that creating a link to your school's internal cloud storage will not work. The number we show during the session will depend on submissions. If time allows, children can also ask to be selected to share live during the session by raising their hand when asked.
  • We prefer the teacher to register and join the ZOOM session, sharing their screen via interactive whiteboard to the class or within the library during lunch break. Please make only one registration (per teacher participating) as there are limited logins and we could not cater for individual children logging in. A teacher can add a request to the chat room if they have a child who wishes to suggest a book live and wait for permission to speak.
  • Teachers are invited to participate by submitting students short videos making their recommendations or 'book trailers' (submitted in advance for us to share).

SYNOPSIS

THE DAY OF CHOCOLATE is a delightful adaptation of the award-winning book by Anna Onichimowska under the same title. The film balances between the real and the fantasy world of 8-year-old Dawid and his peer neighbour Monika who are going to share a friendship but also a common secret. They’re going to discover a world inhabited by creatures that devour Mondays, Tuesdays and other days of the week. They’re going to find out the mystery of the old clock and wake up the Time Hopper who will help them cross the gate to a place where time rules are completely different...
Will they manage to make their dream come true and go back in time?
